Mackinac Island Eight Mile, Saturday, September 7, 2024

Great Turtle Half Marathon & 5.7 Mile, Saturday, October 26, 2024

The “supersized” medal is unique from the other event’s finisher medals and definitely a special keepsake commemorating your accomplishment!  It will be awarded at the completion of the Great Turtle Half Marathon.

By registering for the Mackinac Island Trio series, you will be registered in all three of your selected RunMackinac events  (Maximum of 3 events per series registration).

You can individually register and complete each selected event in the series and still be eligible for the Trio Medal, however the discount is only available by registering for the Trio Series, not the individual events.

Please note:  there is a no refund policy.  If you find you cannot complete any one of the events a deferral is possible for a $15 fee.   You may also transfer your registration for any individual event for a $10 transfer fee.  If you defer or transfer, you will no longer be eligible for the Trio medal.

If you are not sure you can complete all three events, you may want to consider registering individually for the events – you will still be eligible for the Trio medal.  Please Note:  Virtual Races will qualify for the Trio provided results are uploaded.

Note:  Mackinac Island Park Commission has assessed an $8.00 park fee for each race – that fee is included in your registration fee.

Course Descriptions

Fort2Fort 5 Mile Challenge

The race course begins inside Fort Mackinac with the sound of the musket firing.  Runners and walkers will travel out the Sally Port to Huron Street and run through the Island interior to Fort Holmes (the highest point on the Island), then back to finish outside Fort Mackinac.  This scenic and challenging course will pass seven Island landmarks!

Lilac Festival Course:

The race course begins on Main Street in front of Wyndemere Park, then runs through town to Truscott Street where a challenging incline meets Huron Road. From there, it will take you over rolling hills through the wooded-center of the Island. The last leg of the race is on the shore road, offering the unique opportunity to take in the beautiful Straits of Mackinac. The entire run is on paved roads.  Enjoy the best of Mackinac Island in one race!

Mackinac Island 8 Mile Course:

The Start Line is located in front of Mission Point Resort, and the course will follow the perimeter of Mackinac Island in a clock-wise direction.  The first mile of the race will travel past Victorian homes, the boat harbor and a myriad of shops and hotels in downtown Mackinac Island.  Once through town, the route follows the shoreline of the Straits of Mackinac featuring breathtaking views of the Mackinac Bridge, neighboring islands and historic rock formations, finishing at waters edge on the lawn of Mission Point.  This course is fast and flat but the scenery is so beautiful, you may just decide to relax and enjoy!  The Finish Line is located along the shores in the park out front of Mission Point Resort.

Mackinac Island Great Turtle Half Marathon & 5.7 Mile Course:

The Half Marathon will start in front of Mission Point Resort. The beginning of the course follows the shoreline featuring breathtaking views of the lake, neighboring islands and the historic Arch Rock formation.  You will then veer off the shoreline and wind through the beautiful island interior on bike trails and roads.  The roads are mostly paved with some gravel.  The last segment of the race returns to the shoreline, with the finish line located in front of the resort.

The 5.7 Mile will start in front of Mission Court, located next to Mission Point Resort. The first half of the course winds through the beautiful island interior on bike trails and roads.  The roads are mostly paved with some gravel.  The last half of the race brings you out to the shoreline, with the same breathtaking views of the Half Marathon.  The finish line will also be the same as the Half Marathon, located in front of the resort.
