Register Today for the Mackinac Island Fort2Fort VIRTUAL Challenge!
Mackinac State Historic Parks turns 125 this year, and we were excited to host what would have been the 3rd annual Mackinac Island Fort2Fort Five Mile Challenge. But … COVID-19 had other plans. However, we are excited to host this year’s race as a virtual event an hope you can join us either on the Island or in your home town for the Virtual Fort 2 Fort Challenge!
Funds raised from this event go directly to Mackinac State Historic Parks to support programs, exhibits, and park operation. It has been an extremely challenging year for Mackinac State Historic Parks, and this event provides needed support to the park at a crucial time.
You can run or walk your race whenever or wherever it is convenient for you. For those that have already planned on coming to Mackinac Island and still would like to do so, the map of the racecourse is posted under course maps so you can run or walk any day you choose. And – the course will be marked October 3, the “official” virtual race day. Wherever or whenever you choose to participate, you can upload your finish time and photos to share your experience!
In the week leading up to virtual race day Mackinac State Historic Parks will share information about the sites you’ll see along the course on its Facebook page. Additionally, Mackinac State Historic Parks will live stream the Cannon Firing at 9:30 am on October 3rd for those that want to participate on the actual virtual race day, and will feature an official welcome from Mackinac State Historic Parks director Phil Porter!
